~~~Shook the man's hand and talked to him~~~
by: Heather
I only didn't saw Pat, but I got to meet him and talk to him! I also talked to Eileen and Katie McMahon.
When the Lee Company came to Denver, Colorado around December of course I saw it. My friends and I went to see it. Pat and
Eileen weren't performing, but it was still wonderful! We enjoyed ourselves throughly.
After the show we literally ran to the backstage door, hoping to get some autographs. We were the only people! We got to meet
the Russian and tapdancers. But we got to meet Sorcha McCaul also! But the stupid starstruck trio let Katie go bye us!
Couple days go by and my friend was squealing that her dad was invited to the Riverdance cast party and could take a friend! I
was the lucky one!
We were the first ones, we had our programs and cameras. We waited and finally Katie came in! We shyly went up and asked
her for a autograph and a picture, she gladly said yes. Couple hours went by still no Eileen and Pat, but we got to talk to the
singers and the woman tapdancer (such a sweetie).
My friend and I excused ourselves to sit out in the less noisey lobby. We chatted and we heard some familiar voices behind us. I
turned around and my jaw fell, I choked out "That's Eileen!" My friend barely got the words out but she said, "And there's Pat!" I
think they heard our mouths hit the floor. We quickly ran back into the room and to our seats.
Previously we talked to Micheal Londra and told him about our little crush on Pat and our fasination with Eileen. He winked and
said he would introduce us. He tapped Eileen on the shoulder and said that these two ladies were also Irish Dancers and
admired her. She gave us the sweetest smile and we got to chat with her! She said she wasn't use to our altitude and wondered
how we danced! I told her we had strong lungs. Then we got to meet Pat. I was telling myself to be calm. He said the same thing
as he did with Eileen. I was the first to stick out my hand and shake his. I'm surprised I calmly said my name without looking
like an idiot. That man is a lot sexier in person! WHOO!!
We excused ourselves again, we had to squeal about our experience in private. But then it dawned on me, we didn't get an
autograph or a picture! We walked back in and sat down until we got the guts to ask them. I finally did and walked over to Eileen.
I got her attention and asked her for her autograph and picture. She smiled warmly and did so. The pic is with Eileen and myself
cheek to cheek.
Next obstacle was to get the nerves to ask Pat. I almost did, I was right behind his chair and choked. I didn't know how to
address him! Thankfully Micheal Londra rescued me. He got Pat's attention and he signed my program. Then I got the picture
with him. He has his arm around my shoulder and smiling with those gorgeous dimples!
Later, I got to help him out with a handful of drinks, but that's a different story. ;)
