Riverdance: Live From New York
Getting a little bored with your Riverdance: Live From New York videotape???
Add some spice to it!
Here's a list of landmarks in the show on videotape to keep your watching even more entertaining!
- *Women of Ireland*
- When Jean Butler decends the stairs, her hands positions change. At the top of the stairs, she has both hands on her hips; in the middle, there is only one hand on her hip; and then
at the bottom, both hands are on her hips again. Amazing, huh?
- *American Wake*
- While the dancers are in the 3 circles, you'll notice there are 2 coed groups and 1 group of all women. Make sure you watch the placement of the women's circle. One shot, they are in center of the stage between the 2 coed groups and another shot places them on the far left side of the stage making it women, coed, coed.
- *Trading Taps*
- Have you noticed the silver charms on Colin Dunne's backside? Or how Colin's shirt isn't just white? It actually has light blue horizontal stripes on it. Both times Trading Taps is performed (main number and recap at the end), Pat's fingers are flexing and tapping while he is dancing. Could he be keeping count?
- *Russian Dervish*
- In the opening duet dancing, the pink couple's last kick to the side is repeated. Before her last spinning sequence, the pink dancer disappears backstage and then appears just in time to dance. Did you ever notice the pink dancer's wedgie?
- *Oscail an Doras*
- While the first group of dancers dance, the second group stand next to and flirt with the male singers.
- *Heartland*
- What kind of earrings is Jean Butler wearing?
- *Riverdance International*
- During Ivan Thomas's song recap, the top left male singer takes the same stance as Ivan does when he sings (feet shoulder-width apart). The camera gets a close-up of Ivan and you can see all the hussle and bussle backstage. During Maria Pages's recap, the whole cast claps to the music not just the guys in the semi-circle. When Colin points at the band during his recap, everyone in the cast does too. During the final dance, the choreograpy calls for heel clicks and you can see an American dancer (probably Daniel B. Wooten)'s feet just shake back and forth kind of a mockery of the heel clicks.
