PATRIOT YOUTH BOYS
BASKETBALL LEAGUE
PURPOSE: To provide young athletes with the opportunity to play competitive
basketball , in an atmosphere that matches what they will encounter at interscholastic
levels. (Board certified referees will be used at all levels unless special exceptions are
discussed and agreed to by all parties concerned.)
DIDISIONS: There will be three divisions for boys. School grade levels six through
eight will define those divisions. Birth dates will only count if the athlete is two years
oder than his grade level. If he is more than two years older than his grade level norm
than he must play the next grade level up. Athletes may play “up” a grade level by
choice, but may NOT play “down” a level. An athlete carried on a roster for one grade
may NOT play on another roster for another grade level within the league.
ROSTERS: Rosters must be submitted for each team entered and must include birth
dates. Each roster WILL be fixed for the season. No athlete may play at two different
grade levels during the season, including playoff games. Team rosters will consist of a
maximum of twelve (12) players per team. ROSTERS WILL BE SUBMITTED TO THE
LEAGUE PRIOR TO THE BEGINNING OF THE SEASON.
EQUIPMENT: NCAA men’s basketball or equivalent will be used. Uniforms are at
the discretion of each association. Colors must be presented to the league at registration.
home teams are responsible for having “pinnies” or home team uniforms to prevent
confusion when two teams have the same colors. Home teams are responsible for an
approved First Aid Kit on site at all games. Home teams will provide scorekeepers and
timekeepers.
INSURANCE: All Associations or individual teams are required to carry liability
insurance and extended medical insurance before they will be allowed to compete in the
Patriot Youth Basketball League. The League will provide this insurance as part of the registration fee. Our coverage provides $1 million liability and $10,000 in extended
medical coverage (which is mandatory).
FEE: The registration fee is $225.00 per team - $675.00 total (three teams) for each
association. This fee MUST be paid by the Association PRIOR to the beginning of the
season.
