I believe you will find I possess the skills
that enhance the programming development
of a broadcast property, i.e.: strong
communication skills, analytical ability,
decisiveness, confidence, ability to negotiate,
a budget/bottom line focus, initiative and
empathy. I find out how to make a
Return-on-Investment and offer positive
impact on the properties' image.
I see the Program Director/Operations
Manager at an aggressive property being in a
unique position. They must work with all
department heads and maintain open
communications with all members of the
broadcast team. This means attending
department head meetings as well as sales
and programming meetings. I can function
and thrive well in this unique environment, for
I have worked in various positions at broadcast
properties, and have an active interest in the
technical end. I am able to relate to members
of the team, including the Morning talent with
the pressures that they face. I understand
what is required to make that shift a success, and I also know the personal drawbacks. I
can relate to the sales representatives in need
to close just "one more sale", and the
General Manger needing to maintain the
market position or the need to take it up just
one more notch. |
