Ephriam P. Patrick
- Ephriam P. Patrick (b.1852 - D. Dec 02, 1924)
- Born in Ohio (possibly in Vinton Co., his parents are
listed in the 1850 and 1860 census in Clinton Twp.). He
grew up there and moved to Milton Twp. with his parents
somewhere between 1860 and 1870. He married Emma S.
Phetteplace (b.1855 - d.1943) on July 17, 1873 in
Wellston, Ohio (I have a copy of their marriage record).
They had 10 children together. Ephriam died on Dec 02,
1924 in Wilkesville Twp. (Vinton Co.) Ohio, of Bronchi
Pneumonia at the age of 73 years 9 months and 3 days and
is buried in Ridgewood cemetery. During his lifetime he
was a coal miner and farmer. Emma died in 1943 and is
buried along side her husband in Ridgewood. She was a
housewife most of her lifetime. Her father James
Madison Phetteplace served with the 23rd Ohio
Volunteer Infantry, Company I, during the Civil War from
Jul 06, 1864 to Jul 07, 1865 (I have a copy of his
discharge paper and I am in the process of getting
information on his pension application files from the
National Archives in Washington D.C.). Emma remarried in
1926 at the age of 71, to George Gilmore, in
Vinton Co. Here is Ephriams obituary as it appeared in the McArthur Republican Tribune in December
of 1924.
E. PATRICK
The many friends of Mr. E. Patrick were
saddened at his death which occurred at his home near
Wilkesville on Tuesday Dec. 2. The funeral service was
held, on Thursday in Wellston, Mr. James Belcher and Mr.
Rutherford officiating. The body was interred in Wellston
cemetery. Mr. Patrick is survived by his wife and five
children: Mrs. Harley McCumber, Wilkesville; Mrs. John
Heir, Alice; Mrs. Fred Kessler, Wellston; Mrs. Joeseph
Simmons, Marion; and Mr. Chancie Patrick,
Wellston.-----Wilkesville Cor.

- Born in Milton Twp./ Jackson Co., Ohio. Listed in family
household in 1880 census at the age of 6 years-old. She
had a illegitimate son, Chester Patrick (b. Dec
18, 1893).
- 3. Grace Patrick (b. Apr 29, 1878 - d. Jul 19,
1956)
- Born in Wellston, Ohio. Married John Haur. Lived
at Minerton, Ohio on Irish Ridge.
- 4. Chancie E. Patrick (b. Oct 17, 1880 - d.1941)
- Born in Wellston, Ohio. Married Ina Agnes Lucas on
Feb 11, 1902 in McArthur, Ohio. They had 1 son, Guy
Norman Patrick (b. Jun 22, 1903). Both Chancie and
Ina are buried in Ridgewood Cemetery.
