| Story 20 Black hole Iran turns out to have a lot of black holes, in other words places that you cannot escape from. We had Esfahan, one of the most beautiful cities in the world, where we met so many great people. We were with nine cyclists. Yoann, Manu and Mick from France, Jakob from Austria, Jean-Pascal, Benno, Theo and Laura from Switserland and Benny and Mandy from Germany. All with their own story, all great persons. We finally managed to leave this place and were really on the move. In only two days we cycled 330 km, the second day breaking our own record: 180 km with an average speed of 24 km/u. We found ourselves in black hole number 2, one of the oldest cities in the world, Yazd. A beautiful place with a nice roof where you could sleep under the stars. We had such a nice time, we spent another week there. Three days we drove to Kerman, through the desert, with even a police escort, God knowes why.. And yes, you guessed it, Kerman was black hole number 3. But not because it is so nice. We had to spend a week here because we decided we are going to take the train from here to Pakistan. The area is not safe enough to cycle. But the train only leaves twice a month. So tomorrow we will finally go to the border. We are really looking forward to a new experience in a totally different country. But we will definately miss Iran. It has been great!!!! |
