Rides ( roads) from
Hell...Part 2

The psychological game, that cycling can cause, has begun. You think " I cannot go on any more" and several hours, kilometers and mountains further, you sip relaxed on a beer. Physical suffering is so relative!

The road along the Black Sea-coast is rough, but beautiful, with lush green mountains and deep blue waters. Cute little villages with nice harbours were the road passes through. They call this road a "rollercoaster" and now we know why. Our daily average has dropped from 18 km/hr to 11. These are not even mountains ( our highest pass was only 400 meters) but the climbs are unbelievably steep. Between 10 and 20% is normal here! But not for our legs!
50 kilometers a day is a maximum here, but hotels are not everywhere. That is why in Doganyurt ( after 80 km!!) we were so happy there was a Turkish family who invited us in their home, where we could sleep. They prepared us an amazing meal and breakfast too! We were incredibly grateful!

In Amasra we celebrated the birhday of Sophie, by taking a good hotel and having a great meal in a fish-restaurant.
Right now we are at a campsite in Abana and travelling to Sinop, where we will arrive somewhere next week. We hope the rides are going to be a little bit easier!!
