Rides ( roads) from Hell...
After waiting for Hettie and Frans ( Sophie's parents) we spent another week in Istanbul. It is the perfect city. We met a lot of great people! But three weeks in Istanbul is a long time and so we were happy to leave! And by now, we can always say we cycled to Asia. Unfortunately the Bosphorus-bridge was off-limits, but we still had a great time cycling along the river, all the way to the black sea. And that is where we will be spending our next couple of weeks. And it is not going to be easy. The last 300 kilometers were tough. Bad roads and steep climbs of over 14 %. Grrr. But the beautiful views made up for it. And we were happy to find some camp sites along the way! And the turks are just amazing. We have been offered so much already:
24 cups of tea
4 kilos of fru�t
6 beers
4 pastrys
baklava
and so on....
We are looking forward to our next 1000 kilometers along the black sea and after that the high plains of Erzurum!!
