HEY
Every month i'm going to try to do a story on some one that has influenced our lives. This month as you can see it is Johnny Ramone.
John Cummings  was born October 8, 1948 in New York and died of Prostate Cancer on Sept 15, 2004 at his home in Los Angeles. He was only 55. In just the four years before Johnny's death the band had lost two other members Joey Ramone (Jeffrey Hyman)
the bands lead vocalist died in 2001 of Lymphatic Cancer, and Dee Dee Ramone (Douglas Colvin) the bands drummer who died of a drug overdose in 2002.
To us the Ramones will go on in time as Americas first Punk Rock band, and pioneers of the american Punk movement. Johnny was one of the greatest guitarist  to ever live. The way Johnny would play to the crowd  and not to the band like most outher bands play to the amps and the drummer Johnny played to his fans. Johnny could  make his guitar sound like a piano or a organ that was not really there. Johnny did not use any effects in his playing just hard hitting harmonics. Johnny had no influencess as a guitarist. He bought a $50.00 Mosrite in January 1974. When he was only 22 he said, "I want to make "Pure, white rock 'n' roll, with no blues influence. I want our sound to be as original as possible, I stopped listening to everything."

                                           "God Bless You Johnny."
