| Our Potter's Story: Patrick was our second child in our relationship together, we already had other children before we met each other. Our first child together is Colten and you will hear about him later on , After I tell you our Potter's story... My pregnancy was as normal as my other ones I had no weird pains ,etc. So when I got to 7 months along I was to go and have an ultrasound . It was on Tuesday the 9th that I went for it and as soon as I had gotten home Brad told me that the doctor called and wanted to see me first thing the next day. So I went to see him and he had told me that the doctors that did the ultrasound said it looked like the baby had no kidneys, and he told me there was a new doctor not to worry just go see a specialist so I did on Friday the 12th. As soon as I got there they took me in for the ultrasound and the specialist looked at me and said he was sorry but they were right . He said that they should induce labour instead of carrying the baby full term and having him die anyway. So we went home and thought about it over the weekend and got everything ready like a place for our other son to stay etc, On Monday morning we left for the hospital and was induced shortly after I got there . I had Patrick the next day July 16th, 2002 at 3:50pm. He weighed 3lbs 3.4ozs. The nurse handed him to us so we could hold him and what not, and one short hour after he was born he passed away in his daddy's arms . The nurses let us be with him a while after to take pictures and stuff . We had him christened before he passed away. We had Patrick's Funeral On Friday July 19th, 2002 it was only family. We got a small white fence and put around our sons grave . We had an autopsy done and when it came back they said that he had died of Potter's Syndrome . He had no kidneys and his lungs where not developed right , and that because of that his heart was twice the size it should of been . Patrick is now in heaven with his grandparents and God and will never be forgotten on Earth. Love : Mommy & Daddy |
