I find that many of my art ideas come in the twilight area between sleep and wakefulness. An in-between state that the Tibetans call the "bardo." Dreams can also be a fertile ground for my art ideas. I keep a dream journal by my bed, to write or draw the ideas that I may wake up with.
My daydreams can coalesce into my art too... where mental ideas can turn into visual ideas, that I hope will connect with *your* own dreams.
