During her life time, she survived from three strokes,
the death of one of her child, and lived on to win the
Academy Award for her role in the movie HUD. She also had
an affair with Gary Cooper, which caused her to have a
nervous breakdown, and her marriage to children writer Rhoald
Dahl would end in shatters.
