| Philosophy of Education |
I believe that the role of the teacher is to guide students as they develop an intrinsic desire to learn, explore, and understand their strengths. I want to teach the child rather than to teach math or reading skills by imparting intellectual curiosit and a love of knowledge. I believe that all children can learn and achieve at their own personal levels. The responsibility of the teacher is to help build self-reliant adults that contribute to society as responsible citizens. I believe students learn best when they are taught in a non-threatening atmosphere in which the children feel comfortable expressing their creativity. It is my responsibility to ensure a friendly, compassionate learning environment in which the studen can openly share their ideas and thoughts. As a teacher it is also my responsibly to see to the safety of the students, to treat them fairly, to respect their individuality, and to promote healthy growth. Personal responsibility is learned from others. I will positively affect my students by maintaining an awareness of my own life values and being a role model. Teachers should facilitate learning while making a difference in the life of a chil I want to instill a positive perspective of school from the beginning by working with elementary-aged children. |
