J. was quiet and attentive during most of an assembly program about African-American culture.  J. was told once to stop talking and turning around the wrong way near the end of the program.

J. respected his math teacher today.  When told his pencil was too short and to get another before the next class meeting, J. responded, "Okay."  Other students backtalked; J. did not.

Interaction with peers seems normal during today's assembly about African-American culture.  J.'s attitude was friendly.  There was no fighting or tattling.

J. cooperated with peers during the Valentine's party today.  No disrespectful or disruptive behavior.  J. was considerate of others and made cards for everyone.

J. participated actively during the assembly when asked to do so.  Students learned African dance steps that required MUCH use of gross motor skills.  J. tried to do the steps correctly and was accurate with most.

J. went to P.E. this morning.  The class played volleyball for the first time in P.E.  J. served the ball when it was his turn, but the ball went the wrong way. J. cried because some of the other boys made fun of him.  J. lacks confidence in this activity.  Later, J. served the ball again ...perfectly.  His participation improved from standing with his hands in pockets, to laughing and having fun.

During science class, J.'s handwriting is legible most of the time, but could be improved upon.  Seems to be in a hurry to complete work.

J. exhibits adequate fine motor skills by controlling his neatness when the math teacher requested that J. write larger and neater, so the division would be legible.  J. had no problems fulfilling the teacher's request.

J. worked quietly during Social Studies today even though he sits in the back of the room where it may difficult to concentrate on the teacher and the lesson.  J. completed worksheets with no difficulty and finished reading the chapter about the Constitution of the United States.   J. followed procedures/rules of the room today.  He read books after completing his in-class work.

J. sits in a desk at the front of row 1 in Math class.  J. was very attentive and worked his division problems accurately.  He was not the first student to complete his work, but every problem was correct.  J. said he likes math.  J. handed in papers quietly and quickly when the teacher requested.
