About the Author

Patricia was born in Melbourne but now resides in Sydney, due to it being the
only place she could afford to buy a falling down terrace that resembled the house
she lived in whilst in London for eight years. She has travelled the world, studied and
worked in various roles in many countries. Wirth's Circus in Australia,
kindergarten teacher in the UK, pavement artist in Berlin and Paris, nightclub waitress
in Paris, painted in Morocco and picked grapes in France,
tomatoes in Spain, and had a short-lived romance with a bull fighter in Spain,
learned German in Berlin, French in Casablanca, was an au pair in Sweden,
taught English in Jamaica, Athens, Istanbul and Rome and lived in Venice.

Patricia has four children, the eldest daughter born in Jamaica, the next daughter
born in London, the third in Geelong, and the son in Sydney. After painting
landscapes and nudes for 15 years, Patricia began writing. Her first book, Riddle
of the Trumpalar, was published under the pen name of Judy Bernard Waite. She has
written 30 childrens books, three adult murder mysteries, and various scripts for TV and film.

Being a travel addict, she has friends all over the world and keeps
in touch by letter and email.
Patricia is much in demand as an after-dinner speaker, and she regularly travels
throughout Australia speaking to children about writing, self-esteem and their
future careers and working with them in writing workshops.
