Course Description: Studies solid state devices with application and emphasis toward control of power. Includes diodes, SCR's, photoelectric controls, timing, circuits, voltage regulation and three phase rectifiers.
Course
Objectives: To gain understanding of
electromechanical, solid state, and programmable controllers of electric
motors, through the use of lecture, AV presentations, written work, and
frequent laboratory exercises. The
student will demonstrate the ability to both wire and explain various motor
starting, stopping, speed and direction control circuits.
