The Jim Atria (original name was Poinciana) was a freighter sunk on her starboard rail in Fall of 1987. Originally sunk in 115' off Fort Lauderdale after being refloated on the Miami River, Hurricane Andrew in 1992 moved her out to 135' and left her sitting upright. At 225' LOA and a 35'' beam, she's a fun dive with a nice engine room, multiple levels of decks, and an interesting cargo hold. As of late-2003, the hull was starting buckle pretty good in a few spots and she may collapse further in a short period of time. |
