Project Education Residential School (PERS)
In the hall and around the base...
Our school is located on an Air Force base. Once the military vacated the property, the school came in to lease some of the buildings. The view above is of the base, taken from the other side of the runway.
This is the sign welcoming all visitors to the base. Home sweet home.
Looking south (toward the river) from the residence hall. You can't see much. Such is life on the base. If you squint, really hard, you can kind of see mountains in the background. Don't work too hard at it, though. You might hurt your eyes.
Wilderness Hall, up close.
And at a distance. That big blocky building straight ahead (across the "quad") is ours. This was taken from the front steps of the school.
Our hall is the yellow/brown one on the right. The dining hall is straight ahead, on the right. You don't have to go too far to eat around here.
Goodbye cute little Hyundai Elantra. Hello big dusty clunky 14-passenger vans. At least they have cute names. Say hello to Floyd, Bubba, and Wilma (Gus is not pictured here). At least we don't have to pay for the gas.
This is the inside of the main school building, where most of the classrooms and offices are. There's an atrium inside and tons of artwork on the walls.
This is the building that houses the automotive lab and the history classroom. PERS also has buildings for aviation and cosmetology.
This is our front desk. Natalia works the evening shift, which is CRAZY busy. And that's Ben, posing for the picture.
This is the staff workroom, which is right across from Kristen's office. That's Diane and Stacey, chatting it up a bit (the staff workroom can be something of a safe haven when it's busy around the hall).
Kristen in her office, already covered in pictures.
Clorissia, Thomas, and Stacey, hanging out and playing games in Kristen's office.
Josh, Brad, and Ben in Ben's office. Aren't they cool.
Connect Four is pretty popular in the lobby. Here's Chrissie, Emmalyn, and Jarraine, concentrating on the game.
Danny, Dorothy, and Tiffany, being silly.
Basketball is VERY popular here. The students even organize games during open gym time.
This is our room. It's actually bigger than it looks here.
The room from another angle.
This is what our room looks like from the hallway. The door to the bathroom is just before the vanity, on the right.
