Dallas, Texas
July 8th to July 10th
There aren't a lot of pictures from Dallas because, quite honestly, we weren't there long and we didn't like it at all. One of the few cool things about the city (which otherwise is HOT HOT HOT and HUMID like you wouldn't believe) is the mixmaster system. You can see it on the left. Just one one of modern day's inventions to make the world faster and more efficient.
Our campsite in Dallas, where we only stayed for about an hour because it was just too darn hot and humid to sleep. Seriously. You try driving for 22 hours straight, setting up your tent, and then trying to sleep in 100 degree heat with absolutely no breeze. You wouldn't last either. You'd be right there with us in the hotel we stayed at, instead.
Joe T's, the restaurant in Ft. Worth that WAS the reason we even went to the Dallas area and stayed for two days. Not kidding. James wanted it THAT bad.
We knew that taking a trip cross country would probably do some damage to our car. We were lucky until we hit Dallas. The city we already disliked anyway was also the one in which we got a flat tire.
James even did the grunt work himself, putting the spare tire on in the ever-present-don't-even-think-you-can-get-away-from-it-and-stop-sweating heat/humidity that is the Dallas air.
James was tired after the Dallas excursion that he took a nap while driving. (Don't worry, moms! His other eye was open the whole time!)
