| Although we were originally going to stay in Chicago for 3 days, we changed our plans and ended up in Polo for 2 nights. So we were only actually in Chicago for the one night. Driving in on the northwest side, we stopped by Paletine and met with Nat and Terri, friends of ours from Eastern. We had lunch with them and hung out at their apartment for a little while (unfortunately forget to take pictures) and then ventured downtown. | ||||||||||||||||||
| The first person we met up with in Chicago was Phil, an old friend of James' (above, on the right, with Kristen and James). Phil works as a bartender at Clark St. Dog (right), a place James used to hang out in when he lived in Chicago. | ||||||||||||||||||
| We ate dinner that night at one of our favorite Chicago restaurants, Cafe Iberico (left). It's a Spanish restaurant with tapas--almost like appetizer-sized entrees, so you order a variety. We loved it, as we always do when we eat here on our infrequent visits to Chicago. | ||||||||||||||||||
| We met up with Crystal after dinner. She was in Phi Epsilon Mu with Kristen and is now working/going to school in Chicago. We decided to try the piano bar across the street which, it turned out, was having their open mic night. As is the typical open mic night, we saw some really good stuff and some really bad... But we had a good time no matter what. | ||||||||||||||||||
