| Barker, Clive 2 : The Great and Secret Show - 10-00 At least 90% too long. The writing is crude and ugly. There is no beauty or love of literature here! Forced myself to finish it. Bradley, Marion Zimmer 3 : The Gratitude of Kings - 6-99 Very good young adult fantasy. Braun, Lillian Jackson 3 : The Cat Who Could Read Backwards - 9-00 Cute and lovable introduction to the series, but the murderer was pulled out of nowhere; ruining the mystery. 3 : The Cat Who Wasn't There - R 3-01 Light and Delightful. These books are a great break from heavier reading if taken in small doses. The solution was clear early on. 3 : The Cat Who Said Cheese - 5-01 Fun visit to Pickax. I just couldn't figure out why Q said the mystery woman's statement was false Brett, Simon 2 : The Dead Romantic - 11-00 Although well written this was an extremely goofy book. I hope his later work is better. 3 1/2 : Tickled to Death - 12-00 This collection of shorts is a perfect break from more difficult reading. Relaxing and entertaining. Brooks, Terry 3 : Running with the Demon - 10-99 Slow when it needed to maintain suspense. 4 : Knight of the Word - 11-99 Excellent, but disappointing. I knew who the demon was too early. The protagonist seemed dumb. 4 : Angle Fire East - 6-00 Emotionally entertaining, but the writing is not up to par. 4 : The Tangle Box - 10-00 Lovable Landover characters and story, but overlong sections of text mar the beginning. |
