The Scripture says that "it is a shame for man to have long hair."  The key word here is shame.  So many times, people will grow their hair out and say, "It's a shame not a sin."  My question for that is: Why would it be a shame if it wasn't a sin?  Now where in the Bible does it say that Jesus had long hair.  However, it does say he has a beard. But he would not tell his apostle Paul to write in the first book of Corinthians that it is a shame for man to have long hair if it wasn't nothing to be ashamed of.  When a child is ashamed, he is ashamed because he did something wrong. There are two kinds of shame though. There is shame on the guilt level, and there is shame on the anguish level.  Shame on the guilt level, is just like the example with the child that I used above.  We feel ashamed for doing something wrong. This is the kind of shame I believe the Bible is talking about.  Shame on the anguish level, is self-explanatory.  I'm sure any of you visiting this website has heard someone say, "It's a shame it's raining today," or something on that level.  Surely the Bible is not talking about anguish?  It wouldn't make any sense.
