Chocolate Pecan Pie Ingredients: 3 beaten eggs 1 cup corn syrup (I prefer dark corn syrup, but you can use light, too) 4 oz semisweet chocolate 1 oz (1 square) unsweetened chocolate 1/3 cup sugar 2 Tablespoons butter 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1 1/2 cups pecan halves unbaked 9-inch pie shell Procedure: melt together the chocolates and the butter (it is good to do this in the microwave), and let them cool off some. Then mix together the chocolate mixture, eggs, syrup, sugar and vanilla. Stir in the nuts. Pour the whole thing into the pieshell (the nuts float, but that's ok) and bake at 350 for 50 - 60 minutes, or until a knife stuck halfway between the middle and the edge comes out clean. Cool on a rack. This is very rich -- serve small slices. Source: Courtesy of Esther Sherr, December 13, 1992
