MORTEY LAWTON was living at Water Rock in the mid 19th century. He died at Water Rock in the district of Midleton, County Cork on 23 January 1892.
PATRICK LAWTON (batchelor), blacksmith was living at Water Rock in 1901 with his sister-in-law Margaret, widow of?.
MARY (MINNIE) LAWTON married ..... MAHER, a son, Dan, went to USA.
BARTHOLOMEW LAWTON went to USA married Mary H. BAILEY of Clonabilty, Ireland and lived in Salem, Mass. 16 Children. He was in the liquor business in Salem and died 1902 in the USA.
THOMAS LAWTON, came to New Zealand in 1874 aboard the vessel "Winchester" arriving at Napier, Hawkes Bay on 26 July 1874. He was a blacksmith in Taradale, Hawkes Bay, and married Ellen LORRIGAN in 1882. 9 children. He died in New Zealand on 21 May 1931.
JAMES LAWTON went to USA about 1882, married Jane MEADE of Clonabilty, Ireland. He was in the leather business. Lived Peabody Mass. 7 children.
CATHERINE LAWTON went to USA, married Edward HARKINS, lived 4 miles from Peabody, Mass. Died in childbirth, 1 child, Elizabeth.
ELIZA LAWTON went to USA, died in 1894 at 122 Lowell(?) Street, Peabody, Mass.
Note added by Pat LAWTON. Thomas is bracketed on the "Winchester" passenger list as travelling with Bridget BRANSFIELD and her 4-yr old son James. Bridget was daughter of JAMES LAWTON & MARY COTTER of County Cork but kinship between THOMAS and BRIDGET or JAMES has not be established.
