Five Themes of Geography:
Location- where a place is
Place- what an area is like by describing human and physical characteristics
Human/Environmental Interaction- how people use, adapt, or change their environment
Movement- how people and places are linked together through transportation or communication
Regions- how the world is divided by geographers using common characteristics
About 500 years ago, people began to study past human life and culture.
Scientists study artifacts of people that lived long ago.
One great discovery was the Rosetta Stone found in Egypt.
This stone contained ancient Egyptian writings and their Greek translations
