One could argue that Sun Ra was the most prolific jazz musician of all time. He was doing in the 1950's what Coltrane and Davis were beginning in the 60's. What is the story of the man from Saturn? Check out these Sun Ra links:

Don Joyce says that art's greatest ally is confusion. Art is a frequent discussion in the lounge and I hope to have links to more virtual art galleries soon. One of my favorite artists is a woman from Maine named Temple Parker. Check out here extensive web site and gallery. My favorite Irish artist is a fellow named Guggi. He has a web site with a few of his works on display. Check out Guggi's site, there are some really cool paintings and drawings. Another Irish fellow that has really caught my eye is Michael Gemmell. He has a very cool web gallery that you shouldn't miss. His work interprets the bogs and natural ruggedness of Ireland. These are all VERY cool sites, so be sure to visit them all!

Who knows what 'outsider music' is exactly. All I can say is you won't hear this stuff on the radio! Here are a few interesting sites that go a little deeper into this mysterious arena of the musical underground. Be perpaired, you may find yourself screaming: "WHAT THE ##**!?#@@!! WAS THAT???" Make sure the kids are in the other room!

Key of Z. This is a wonderful page set up by Irwin Chusid. Irwin is a DJ at WFMU in NYC and has written endlessly about outsider music. He is a friend of mine and I order you to buy his book!!

Cool and Strange Music Mag. This is the virtual home of one of my favorite mags which I subscribe to and would die without. It is a must have for all outsider fans!
