Auto-erotic Asphyxia

I have a feeling this will be a page frequently visited!! However, DON'T TRY THIS AT HOME! Auto-erotic deaths are a very interesting social phenomenon.  Sadly, most of the social and scientific data are the result of fatalities, with very little information known about the charactistics of living partcipants. Most medical litature describes these fatalities in males.  However, it has been documented in females with some very interesting gender differences.  There are only 9 published cases of female sexual asphyxiation in the medical litature.  Is this due to lack of reporting or under diagnosis?? This may have important ramifications on scene investigation as well as the determination of  manner of death: sexual homicide? suicide? accident?  Check back!
