Long Q-T Syndrome

Cardiac arrhythmia's can lead to sudden cardiac death.  Once thought to be a consequence of coronary artery disease, many researchers are finding numerous other causes.  One in particular is Long Q-T syndrome.  This is a very interesting topic, especially with the development of molecular screening.  Althought at this time DNA diagnosis of Long Q-T is a research tool, someday it maybe used to identify individuals unaware they have this condition as well as identify at-risk family members.  This just happens to be one of my favorite topics, so be sure to check back for this and also the Brugada Syndrome page!!
