Messangers were sent out weeks before the festival was set to begin .. one such messanger was sent to Lord Barlows small keep in Halas. How proud to see that his son was to be among the young men selected to represent Highpass Hold.
Being the supportive father that he was, Barlow wanted his son to have all the advantage possible for the upcomming match. So utilizing his own not to shabby skills in Blacksmithing he spent the better part of the next 2 weeks fashioning a special Mace, one that would be so well balanced that its swing would suffer the weilder no loss of balance and agility at all. Add to this the magical properties that were inbued upon it by the Halas Elders best enchanters and this mace (Later named Soulstripper for its ability to steal health from the weilders opponents and magicaly heal its master)., was indeed fit to become an heirloom of the Grenendier clan.

Flora (Spicie) was outside in the courtyard discussing arrangements for some adventurer by the name of Cinlar who was given permision to stay the night, when Pathion came upon her and struck up a conversation about the Harvest Festival. This was a good as time as any .. so after a few jokes about archery being very suited to girls, Path asked Spicie to join him for a picnic just beyond the southern fields ware a small swimming hole and waterfall made for a cool and peacefull reprieve from the heat and the bustle of the castle, Spicie agrees to go along and Pathion smiles and takes his leave with one more joke about Rangers being the 2nd in the lifeboats after the children..... He hears Spicie giggle as he turns the corner. |
