So THAT'S how they get out of those ruts so easy.....2x4's are useful after all!  I got out right after this.
These huge-ass ruts extended the full length of the trail (at least 1/4 mile)and terminated in a bog/lake about three feet deep with soft mud at the bottom.  I rode the edges of the ruts down and then had to scramble to make it back up in the ruts.
This is what nerf bars are for!  And, no, I didn't get stuck, but it was a close thing.
There was some snow on the ground at the time so I figured I'd roll into it.  Almost got stuck right where I was!  Looks can be deceiving....locked the front hubs and I was free in a sec.
Turning around down here was kinda hard....but I got it eventually.
Hehehe...puddles are cool.  I tested the depth first with a stick.  When I got out I had to have a buddy keep the gas pedal down a bit to keep the water out of the muffler.  Also: I hear sometimes rangers or loggers will 'spike' the bottom of big puddles in an effort to keep off-roaders out.  Watch out for that!
