OAXACA
Steep and Steeper!
This 2 week trip in January 2005 started in Huatulco on Mexico's Pacific Coast. As I headed north along HWY 175 to Oaxaca City, it was one endless climb after another through the rugged Sierra Madre del Sur mountains. After several days of exploring the town on foot and doing day-trips by bike to pre-hispanic ruins and indigenous villages, I headed back to the coast. Cycling along HWY 131 I once again traversed Oaxaca's mountainous interiour but now it was one endless descent after another.
Steep and Steeper the climb that wouldn't end.
