RE: The Naming of Things... (2 Replies) Thoth - 06/24/1998 - 06:41:17 P

My nickname comes from ancient Egyptian mythology. The deity Thoth was the God of Knowledge, as well as Teacher of the Gods. His portfolio gave him knowledge of _anything_and_everything_. Given my love of trivia and my abilities concerning thought and memory (I am currently taking courses in constitutional law and three dimensional calculus) over a wide range of subjects, I decided in a fit of hubris to assume Thoth as my nickname on the Internet.

Thoth is a *very* cool name to choose. And if you are proficient in all the things you list, I don't think you need worry about hubris! The gods won't be angry if you show a little pride!
