Chapter Twenty-Six:  The Wedding
The day had come for Hermione at last. The grandest day of her life, according to her mother. The day she would treasure forever, according to Mrs. Weasley. But she knew that it may not be the greatest day in her life, but she would remember it forever and always.

Lavender and Parvati had called her the night before the wedding, both not hiding their upsettedness, but still saying that they would attend the wedding as bridesmaids. Hermione was glad that they had gotten over it, for they were two of her dearest friends, and not having them present on her wedding day would be extremely saddening for her.

As she pulled on her white dress, she thought of her years at Hogwarts. Harry and Ron, Parvati and Lavender, Ginny, the stays at the Burrow, meeting Viktor, moving out, the friction between her and her parents. She couldnt help thinking that she was closing a chapter of her life on this day. And she was ready. She was so ready.

* * *

The service was beautiful, everyone said. Hermione remembered nothing about the service. She remembered looking into Rons blue eyes and saying, I do. She remembered feeling him slip the ring on her fourth finger, and her doing the same to him. Then she remembered Rons soft lips upon hers, and the tears running down her cheeks as the minister proclaimed them Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Weasley. A happy smile lit up her face as Ron led her down the aisle and out into the street.

Across the street from the church in Ottery St. Catchpole was a park where the reception was held. It was a beautiful June day, and the park looked gorgeous, thanks to all of Ginny and Harrys hard work. There was around 50 tiny tables, excluding the large table at the head for the bride and groom and their family and closest friends. Each table had a bright bouquet of peace roses and lily. Hermione looked for the first time at her husbands tuxedo, which was black with a blue vest. She thought he was quite handsome, and Harry looked great in a tuxedo with a green vest that perfectly matched her eyes. Ginny was wearing a Renaissance-style green dress that accentuated the red of her hair, and Parvati and Lavender were both wearing the same dress as Ginny with a darker shade of green. As they all stood together, posing for pictures by the photographer for the Daily Prophet and various people in the crowd, Hermiones smile never faded. Her happiness was never-ending, and was only made larger by the following announcement.

Attention, everyone. I would like to make an announcement. Harry stood up, the green vest completely visible since he had shedded the black jacket.
Firstly, I would like to congratulate my two best friends, Ron and Hermione. Best wishes. Everyone raised their champagne glasses in the air.

Next, I have a very important thing to announce. Harry walked over to where Ginny was standing. The next thing everyone in the crowd knew, he was down on one knee.

Virginia Weasley, would you marry me? said Harry, holding a tiny velvet box in his hand.

Tears sprang to Ginnys eyes as she opened the box to reveal a beautiful diamond. She placed it on her fourth finger and agreed, her mouth covered then by a kiss.

I guess the entire gang is now together! said Hermione, gathering Ron, Harry, and Ginny into a group hug. May we never be separated again!
And that's the End!
