Resurrection Rolls

1 package refrigerated crescent roll dough

melted butter/margarine

large marshmellows

1 tsp. cinnamon

1 Tbsp. sugar

Preheat oven to 350^. Give your child a triangle of crescent roll and a marshmellow. Explain that the roll represents the cloth that Jesus' body was wrapped in and the marshmellow represents Jesus. Have each child dip the marshmellow in melted butter, symbolic of the embalming oils. Then dip the marshmellow in the cinnamon and sugar, representing the spices used to annoint Jesus' body. Wrap the coated marshmellow tightly in the crescent roll, bringing the sides up and sealing the marshmellow inside (not like you would normally roll the crescent rolls though!). This represents how Jesus' body was wrapped after His death. Place the wrapped marshmellows onto an ungreased cookie sheet and place them in the tomb (oven) for 10 to 12 minutes. Remove from oven; cool slightly. When the rolls are cooled, children can open their cloths (rolls) and discover that Jesus is no longer there -

HE IS RISEN!

{If you seal the crescent rolls well, the marshmellow will melt and the roll will be puffy and empty}
