That's right. Glowing Waters is now... dead.
The time has finally come when I take my leave from this world. It's been fun while it's lasted, and I guess I've finally realized it's time to move on with my life and live my dreams. It's not that I don't like Digimon... I still like it, but after Tamers came around... *no more Yamato* it kinda went downhill. I remember way back when we started... no visitors... just me and Linda, making new pages, using that godammned Homestead to create our site. When they started charging, we changed, and moved here.
June 28, 2001 was the "official" day we opened here on Geocities, but I look into my diary and see that this site was 99% done exactly one year ago; on June 23, 2001. I actually learned HTML. I did. I really did. And through the year that has passed, I've learned a lot more. We've made it past 5000 hits and more than 6 different layouts! Heck, I've gotten layout requests too, and now I feel making layouts give me more pleasure to pass the time than creating and updating a site. I don't know, everything's so different from what it used to be.
And look at my art. Time passes so quickly sometimes, and my art has TOTALLY gotten better. Why? I've had so much help from these wonderful friends:
Linda: You were here for me for a while. We worked together, side by side, great friends, and plus, we'd see each other 6/7 days of the week. I always looked up to you for your drawings. You could do poses, feet, hands, basically anything that I couldn't. Ha, we still argue about that whole "who draws better" issue. But after you left GloW, I feel like our friendship kinda drifted apart like icebergs. You left ice-skating, and... I wasn't so comfortable around you anymore. Nevertheless, you are a great friend.
Raquel: Dear LORD, girl! You are one of the bestest artists I've known!!! My first affiliate, the reason I actually MADE it this far into the world of the internet. It was like a helping hand right there, and a smiling face at the end of it. It was you, like a light, guiding me. But when you shut down, I sorta lost it. It's not your fault, I just toned down and stopped working. I am truly blessed to have a friend like you, to be able to talk to you on MSN. Thanks for all the great times and the wonderful lil arts.
Skye: You are probably the only reason I wrote fanfiction. I was searching Digimon one day, came across a site, clicked on links, and I found The Digi-Palace. When that died, I went to ToF, and kept reading your saga. I still LOVE the last episode of Saga 2: Part 2. Truth be told, I was DEATHINGLY terrified of you. It was like talking to your superiors almost. Like looking up at the sun and needing sheild your eyes. Then when you basically ripped my head off for something I didn't do, I was hurt. I'm so glad we've gotten further from that day. Thanks for being a pal and an inspiration.
Megan: Yamato forever! EVERYONE READING THIS, GO TO RABIDFANGIRL.COM THIS INSTANT!!! =P You're so lucky to have a domain! *smiles* I feel badly that I've ignored you, though. I remember we became affiliates because I was on some affiliating spree and tried to get as many affies as possible. But I'm glad we've gotten to know each other, and thanks tons for all the gifts you've given me throughout the holidays. LONG LIVE RABIDFANGIRL.COM! *winks*
Sakura / Irene: YOU ARE SUCH A GODAMMNED GOOD ARTIST!! ^^ And such a great friend too. If it weren't for you and Connie, GloW would have shut down last March. You guys made me happy whenever I was chatting with you, whenever we swapped arts and just hung out. I feel badly that I didn't do so many arts for you though! *wince* Thank you for driving me this far and helping me out all the time. I look forward to Digital Fantasy! *smiles*
Tiara / Connie: Thanks so much for being my kawaii lil buddy! ^^ I do realize that I can be a big pain sometimes... You and Irene were always there to back me up, and I can see that my layouts have really rubbed off on you. ^0^ *glomps Connie* I always loved the icons that you made, and especially loved ALL the arts you gave me!!!
Jenn: Like Skye, talking to you at first was... intimidating, to say the least. But afterwards, you were a real friend. I can totally see us doing more things together in the future though. We talk on AIM, MSN, heck, email too! I've made a few layouts for you by now, I think, but I don't regret a single one I made.... except maybe the S.O.D.A one. *winks* Don't feel bad though. I had fun! ^^ AND WHY DO YOU DRAW SO WELL??? *grumbles*
Kari / Jesse: You are an extremely talented artist for your age! ^^ Finally someone younger than me! We've talked, had some laughs, and thanks for being such a nice girl. We get those random chats every once in a while. *winks*
Dejiko: Hola, se�orita! ?Como estas? ^^ You're a Spanish speakin' amiga, the only one I've had, and that alone makes you special... not to mention you're a great artist and a great friend. I loved chatting with you on MSN, and I hope university life gets easier on you! ^^
Tania: I remember the first words you said to me: Isn't everyone? Yes... we are all mourning... ^-^;;; Thanks for helping out on the FDD Webring! I might have to have YOU take over, since I'm thinking about completely disappearing from the Digital World. Thanks for the laughs, you're the most insane (well, you can compete with a "friend" of mine... *coughwencough*) and funniest girl I've met.
Carrie: Keep up with DTU, gurl! That's probably the funnest site to hang out around. I really like Sophie... you have talent at creating characters, and keep up all the great work! If only we got to know each other more before I died...
Hannah and Cassie: I STILL CAN'T TELL THE DIFFERENCE!!! *sigh* Bein' twins is cool and all, but it's SO CONFUSING!! *smiles* Yes, I'm rather dense at times... (ZIP IT, WEN!) I've loved chatting with ya through email. Send me another one sometime, kay? ^-^
Lori-chan: OMG!! I FORGOT YOUR BDAY!! I'M SO SORRY!!!!! *wince* I'm really really really really really really really really really sorry! Anyone I've missed: It's not becuase I've forgotten, it's just because I've gotten too lazy to write more. This page may be updated...... sometime in the distant future....
Don't worry, I wouldn't leave you hangin like this. GloW will be updated roughly once every 3-4 months. All art requests and button requests are still gonna be completed, but THE REQUESTS ARE CLOSED!!! I simply forgot the password into the art section of GloW... that's why it wasn't updated. *chuckles nervously* I'll be opening up about 3 new sites this summer *hopefully* Tune into my blog at http://finni-chan.cjb.net for details on my life and when I'll be releasing these new sites.
