Gardner David Currie, (right) (If anyone has a better picture of Gardner, please send it to me.), was born 6/4/1876; died 12/20/1941. He was the second child of Howard Cromartie Currie and Lucy Lynch Currie. Only he and my grandfather, William Cromartie Currie, Sr.,(left), of six survived.
Gardner and his wife Anna Brown Currie lived near Neely Plantation, where Gardner ran the plantation store.
They had one son, Gardner David Currie, II (left), who relocated to California for health related reasons and there married and raised a family of 3. The older son is Gardner David Currie, III.

I haven't much information on Anna Brown Currie, except that she was from Lake Providence, Louisiana. It was she with whom Aunt Annie was staying in Jeannerette, LA when Aunt Annie wrote that 1945 history of the family.
Gardner and Anna are buried in the Confederate Cemetery at Vicksburg, MS.
