"Tribute to Francis Lee Johnson"
When You Speak Of Him When you speak of him, speak not with tears, for thoughts of him should not be sad. Let memories of the times you shared bring you comfort, for his life was rich because of you. And though for now you had to part, though to part he did not choose, he'll be with you along life's path, Forever In Your Heart.

The death of a parent is a sad and painful experience. The letter below was written by John's Aunt informing him of the death of his Father, Francis Lee Johnson --- please note the date of the letter -- AND -- the date of the death. The last time John ever saw his Dad was two years before his death, and of course, because of the time the letter was written, he was unable to attend the funeral. What a very selfish woman she must have been.

July 21,1970 Lee, dear ------- Well, at last your Dad can rest -- without pain. He died sometime early Friday July 10. Sunny called me and then -- her sister had Sunny put to bed at (the sisters home), and put under sedation. She was exhausted as she couldn't be away from Frank but a few minutes at a time. She was a very devoted wife to him. I am glad he can rest now but I feel so alone. Frank and I were so close. I can't go out to Calif. because of the arthritis, which is very painful and getting steadily worse. Next week the Drs. may send me to our marvalous bone hospital for Treatment and tests. Next week or the week after. I could wish you had written your Dad at regular intervals, Lee, he loved you so much. Let me know how you are doing --- will you? With love ----- Your Aunt Oey ---
