Sailor Moon was orginally a comic book made up by Naoko Takeuchi, the creator of Sailor V. Sailor Moon first aired on March 1992 in Japan. There are five seasons that make up the entire series.

Sailor Moon is about a ditzy crybaby named Usagi who finds out that she is Sailor Moon the Pretty Suited Soldier of Love and Justice. Along with Sailor Mercury(Ami), Sailor Mars(Rei), Sailor Jupiter(Makoto) and Sailor Venus(Minako/Sailor V), they fight to protect the earth. They are also joined by Tuxedo Kamen, a mysterious man who saves the senshi whenever they're in a jam. The first series introduces Sailor Moon and the inner scouts along with Tuxedo Kamen. They fight against the evil Queen Beryl and the Dark Kingdom from taking over the universe. Identites are revealed and the past is relived in this series as Sailor Moon finds out that she's the moon princess from long ago and Tuxedo Kamen is Prince Endymion of Earth and the moon princess' love. As they figure out the sad story of the fall of the Moon Kingdom and the brave Queen Serenity who sacrificed herself in order for her dughter and her court to have a future.
Sailor Moon R reintroduces the heroines as their lives are restored but not their memories. Once the guardian cats restore the senshi memories, a new enmy has arrived on Earth, with the help of the mysterious Tsukikage no Knight, Sailor Moon is able to restore the love in a onced doomed tree and restore the memory of her beloved Mamoru(Tuxedo Kamen). The second part of Sailor moon R finds Usagi and Mamoru love blossoming when a mysterious child named Usagi(later becomes Chibiusa) appears and demands the Silver Crystal. We are also introduced to a new scout, Sailor Pluto and the angry revenge of the Black Moon. Identites are revealed to establish that the past walks into the future when we see that Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Kamen have become King and Queen of the Earth. With shocking results, Chibiusa is the King and Queen's daughter. Together the future and the present combine their powers to defeat the Black Moon.
Sailor Moon S introduces several new senshi to the public as well as an old friend, Sailor Pluto. A new enemy appears stealing precious pure hearts from people hoping that the 3 mysterious talismans will appear combining them into the msytical Holy Grail. Not only are the Death Busters(enemy) after those pure hearts but also 2 new senshi names Sailor Uranus and Neptune, hoping that the Holy Grail will fall into the hands of the Messiah and bring hope to earth and extinguish the Silent Messia . We are also reintroduced to Chibusa as she has come back to the past to train as a sailor senshi, Sailor Chibi Moon. When the Holy Grail is revealed, a new character comes in with mysterious powers. She is befriended by Chibusa and sets in motion an epic battle between the True Messiah, the Senshi of Descruction and Rebirth and the leader of the Death Busters.
Sailor Moon Super S focuses more on Sailor Chibi Moon than on Sailor Moon as a mysterious flying horse from the past secretly stows away in the young senshi's dreams where they grow close that blossoms into a sweet love. We also see are introduced to a cute new feline who identifies Artemis as 'daddy'. Another character from the past's dark side is introduced looking for the pegasus dream holder hoping to steal the Golden Crystal away and remain eternally beautiful. This season opens ups the gate on which the viewers find out alittle more about the Silver Millenium before the attack of Beryl. We are also introduced to the future manga senshi and how they ended up on the side of darkness.
Sailor Moon Stars is the last seaon of the whole Sailor Moon series. There are two parts. The first parts dwells on the continuation of what happened in Sailor Moon Super S. The evil queen's seal is broken and is reining terror on Tokyo. Worst part is that a beloved character Mamoru is under the queen's spell. Fear not for all 10 senshi are together again and given Sailor Moon the power she needs to restore the Queen's dreams to reality. The second part we are introduced to a new rock band called the Three Lights. As Chibiusa has gone back to the future and Usagi's love, Mamoru goes to America for his college education. As a new and most powerful enemy arises so do three new star senshi and a mysterious little girl.(didn't want to spoil it to much) |
