Reaching Cambodians For Christ Through You!

In August 1977, my brother was executed and I was in the target to be killed next but I was spared by God according to Galatians 1:15-16 in this "KILLING FIELD".
I left Cambodia, the country I hated, just to search for food in Thailand. Unfortunately my mom, two younger brothers, my sister and I were sent back by the Thai government. We went through much of the country infested by land mines. We had to eat leaves, bamboo shoots, and roots for more than a month just to stay alive. Many dead bodies were lying on the walking paths  as we went the jungle.
I desired to be one of them my life would be ended but through God's grace I am still survived. Many lost their children by crossing the mighty flow of rivers on the way. Many of us don't understand the words "HOPELESS, HELPLESS, STARVATION, and FEAR," until we are experienced. I went back to my home village being sick with several diseases and was starving to death. The hardship was seemed to endless and beyond description.
After four months the devastating starvation forced me to again attempt to leave Cambodia for Thailand. By God's Grace I got through to a refugee camp in Thailand in an ambulance because of my severe sickness. It took four months for me to regain my strength and be able to walk. I wanted to study English but I could not afford the classes. Later, I learned that there was a free class offered in a home Bible study. I joined the group and despite my Buddhist background, I was determined to simply sit and listen and learn English. After one month, I found the truth and freedom through the Book of Genesis Chapter One to Three and the Gospel of John Chapter One.
To make the story short, I got saved! By His great love, I also got a job to work with many missionaries in the refugee camp from mid 1981 to May 1985 when I was able to come to America. I didn't plan to serve the Lord but I wanted to make a lot of money and become rich in the freedom available in the USA. After I went to some college, God directed me to a Bible college but this was not my desire. Later on, my desire for God had faded away too. Going to church on Sunday was of no interest to me.
For 6 years in America, I abused my freedom and lived my life in sin. God was not my priority. In early 1991, I met an atheist woman, her name was Rom. She was sick and felt ready to die. Then in August 1992 she gave her life to the Lord and prayed for healing and God healed her. She changed her name to Tabitha and became my wife.
On a Saturday morning of Oct. 23rd '93 at about 4:30 A.M. in East side of Modesto, California. While I was working at the donut shop, I was becoming the victim of hate crime. An unknown white big built young male came to me from behind without saying a word started to stab me in my back. He stabbed 16 stabs all over my body but God still spares my life in a marvelous way so that I'm still alive again today. Unfortunately I lost one left eye. God must have the very good plan for my life. I had many questions to ask God but forgiveness is the answer to my heart as well as my wife's. My blood cries on the ground as Abel's even though the criminal never be caught for justice. 'Rejoice, O nations, with his people, for he will avenge the blood of his servants; he will take vengeance on his enemies and make atonement for his land and people'. Deut 32:43. So I do not need to worry about the crime was committed to us just leave it to the hands of Almighty God as Paul also said 'Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new'. 2 Cor 5:17.
God has turned our lives around 180 degrees. God has opened our eyes and now our hearts are crying for lost souls. In November of 1997 we planted a small church called the Church of Paradise in West Modesto, California. In November of 1999 I was ordained and became a "Real Pastor". In June 1999 I took my first trip to visit my family in Cambodia. The Lord helped me to plant the first home church there in my village. Without any plan but with much prayer, my own people and all those in a country that I had hated, now have become a great burden of love beyond my wildest thought. Our hearts have deep crying for the poor Cambodian souls. As from June 1999 to Feb 2004 I have made 10 trips to Cambodia and have planted 70+ churches there, adopted 41 orphans, have 4 oversea workers, 13 pastors, 45 lay workers,, 8 orphanage workers, 6 school teachers in our 3 Christian Schools laboring together to spread the Good News.
My wife and I are in one mind in serving the Lord, Jesus Christ in Cambodia. We can only imagine the Lord has for us in the future to win many Cambodian souls. The Buddhist people that haven't heard the Gospel before but now are very receptive spirit. We need all the fervent prayers and financial support. Donate $5 or $10 will make the big different in doing the Lord's work in Cambodia. We feed the orphans, church planting exspence, help native pastors and church planters, leadership training, build church when needed, buy more Bibles and other needs!!!
