Discipleship
Mt 10:24 The disciple is not above [his] master, nor the servant above his lord.
Mt 10:25 It is enough for the disciple that he be as his master, and the servant as his lord. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more [shall they call] them of his household? (AV)
We are called to make disciples. We are called to be disciples.
A disciple is a learner - one who becomes like his master.
There are tests of discipleship that we must all go through.
Lu 14:26 If any [man] come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.
Lu 14:27 And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple. (AV)
God help us if the only things we ever do fo Jesus are the things we like to do.
Joh 8:31 ¶ Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, [then] are ye my disciples indeed; (AV)
The miracles start when you step out in obedience.
Change comes from application and obedience to His Word.
If you know the truth and it doesn't change your life, your thinking becomes vain.
You and God are not naturally compatable and guess who has to change.
Joh 13:34 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. (AV)
Joh 13:35 By this shall all [men] know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another. (AV)
Mt 7:18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither [can] a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. (AV)
Mt 7:19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. (AV)
Mt 12:33 Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by [his] fruit. (AV)
Joh 15:4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. (AV)
Joh 15:5 I am the vine, ye [are] the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. (AV)
Joh 15:8 Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples. (AV)
Joh 15:16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and [that] your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you. (AV)
As long as there is somebody in your community who needs Jesus, you church is not big enough.
