Helloween or Halleluiah

Joh 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have [it] more abundantly. (AV)

When you are thrown into the water, you have only two choices - sinnk or swim. There are no other options. In fact, if you choose to swim, you'll swim. But if you choose not to swim, you will sink by default. If you fail to choose, you have chosen by default to sink. Simply ignoring the problem is a choice - a negative choice.

Do you see the simple logic in that? It is the same way in the spiritual. You have only two choices - God or the devil, heaven or hell, Helloween or Halleluiah.

Compare God and Satan:

Tempter -

Mt 4:3 And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread. (AV)

Ge 3:4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: (AV)

Ge 3:5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. (AV)

Instigating to sin -

Joh 13:2 And supper being ended, the devil having now put into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon's [son], to betray him; (AV)

Ac 5:3 But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back [part] of the price of the land? (AV)

Eph 2:2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: (AV)

But God is able to deliver us from temptation.

2Pe 2:9 The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished: (AV)

Slanderer -

Job 1:9 Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, Doth Job fear God for nought? Job 1:10 Hast not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side? thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land. (AV)

But God doesn't believe his slanderous remarks.

Jer 31:3 The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, [saying], Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee. (AV)

Accuser -

Re 12:10 And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. (AV)

Satan will accuse you of things you didn't do and rub in your face the things you have done.

But Jesus is our defender.

1Jo 2:1 . . . And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: (AV)

Sickness -

Job 2:7 So went Satan forth from the presence of the LORD, and smote Job with sore boils from the sole of his foot unto his crown. (AV)

Lu 9:42a And as he was yet a coming, the devil threw him down, and tare [him].

But God is our healer.

Lu 9:42b And Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit, and healed the child, and delivered him again to his father. (AV)

Opposing -

Zec 3:1 And he shewed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the LORD, and Satan standing at his right hand to resist him. (AV)

But Jesus is standing up for us.

Lu 22:31 And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired [to have] you, that he may sift [you] as wheat: (AV)

Lu 22:32 But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren. (AV)

Heb 7:25 Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them. (AV)

Stealing the seed of the Word -

Mt 13:19 When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth [it] not, then cometh the wicked [one], and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side. (AV)

But God is still able to save.

Heb 7:25 Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them. (AV)

Sowing bad seed -

Mt 13:38 The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked [one]; (AV)

Mt 13:39 The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels. (AV)

But Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil.

1Jo 3:8 . . . For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. (AV)

Murder and lying -

Joh 8:44 Ye are of [your] father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. (AV)

But Jesus is truth.

Joh 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. (AV)

Adversary -

1Pe 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: (AV)

But God has given us a comforter.

Joh 14:16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; (AV)

Blinder -

2Co 4:4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. (AV)

But God opens the eyes of the blind and reveals truth to us.

Eph 1:18 The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, (AV)

Counterfeiter-

2Th 2:9 [Even him], whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, (AV)

But God guards us and guides us.

1Jo 4:6 We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error. (AV)

Joh 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, [that] shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. (AV)

God is:

A lover -

1Jo 4:8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. (AV)

A savior -

Ro 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. (AV)

A restorer -

Joe 2:25 And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you. (AV)

The main difference between the nature of God and the nature of the devil is that Satan will kill us for his selfish purposes while God was willing to sacrifice himself for us.

1Ti 2:5 For [there is] one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; (AV)

1Ti 2:6 Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time. (AV)

God has given us a choice.

Jos 24:15 . . . choose you this day whom ye will serve . . .
