Floyd Is Coming
Re 22:12 And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. (AV)
It is revealing to me that when the headlines said 'Floyd is coming' people took notice and took action. But when the prophets of God cry out 'Jesus is coming', the Christians say "Oh goodie". The sinners say "So what". And the skeptics say "Yeah, right".
Hurricane Floyd had an appointment with the East Coast and nobody could do anything about it. We were completely powerless against this 'force of nature'.
Each of us has an appointment with destiny. There is a moment in time, and no man knows the time, when we will leave this life and we will stand before God.
Heb 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
No man can avoid this appointment. One day, life will end, or the trumpet will blow and we will be caught away, and we will face the Judge of the Universe.
At that moment, people will wish they had taken action when the day came forth - Jesus is coming.
"Floyd is Coming" - Some people were already prepared. I have a box at home marked 'Hurricane Survival Kit'. It was given to me by a navy family when they moved away from hurricane alley here. In it is everything I would need for a few days without water, power, and grocery stores. I am prepared.
Others, when the news flash came, rushed out to the stores and bought what they would need. Some found, as the five unprepared virgins did, that there were no more supplies to be found. It was prepare in advance or lose out.
When the trumpet blasts, and the saints disappear, and the Lord takes his faithful ones, the churches will be closed. People will rush out and try to get some religion real quick. Too late! There is no one there who can help you. The real believers already left.
Jesus is Coming! It's headlines in the scriptures. Are you ready? Are you full of His Word and filled with His Spirit? Have you received the gifts of God - salvation, faith, favor, assurance? Do you know what to do when the trumpet blows?
Joe 2:1 Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain: let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the day of the LORD cometh, for it is nigh at hand; (AV)
This may be your last warning. The next sound you hear may be the trumpet. Then, it's too late to get ready.
Many people took the "Floyd is Coming" message seriously and did the wise thing. Will you take the "Jesus is Coming" message seriously and do what must be done?
