6.2 SOURCE OF FUNDING
Funds for Trinity Youth Ministries shall come from three sources:
6.3 DISBURSEMENTS
6.3.1 The Youth Council shall have the final authority in the disbursement of Trinity Youth Ministry Funds
6.3.2 Checks shall be cut by the Church Treasurer or Financial Secretary with funds coming from the designated Trinity Youth Ministries account.
6.3.3 It shall be understood that approval by the council to sponsor an activity entails the approval to purchase the necessary supplies for that activity within reason.
6.3.3a Expenses over $50 not covered by participation fees must be specifically approved by the council.
6.3.3b A Receipt is required for any reimbursement of expenses. Receipts, along with a written explanation of what the purchases were for should be given to the NYI Treasurer who will request a check be cut by the Church Treasurer of Financial Secretary
6.3.3c Routine supply purchases should be routed through the church secretary in keeping with church purchase order guidelines.
6.4 ACTIVITY SUBSIDIZATION POLICY
In keeping with the Biblical teaching of impartial generosity, even to latecomers, as taught in Christ's parable of the wages (Matthew 20:1-16), and in keeping with the principle of the equal sharing of God's gracious provisions, exemplified by Paul's instructions concerning the abuse of the Eucharistic Meal in Corinth (1 Corinthians 11:20-22), care shall be given regarding funds donated and raised for the purpose of subsidizing specific trips or activities. It shall be the policy of Trinity Youth Ministries that funds donated or raised to subsidize specific trips or activities shall be set aside for such purposes (after the Tithe on those funds are given to the church.) These funds shall be used to subsidize the designated activity(s) in such a way that the cost of the activity(s) shall be reduced equally for all participants.
6.5 TITHING
In keeping with the Biblical pattern for supporting the work of God through a program of storehouse tithing, Trinity Youth Ministries shall set the example for its participants by giving 10% of all funds raised or donated to the youth group (excluding those funds allocated to the Youth Group by the Church Board not those funds coming from participant fees) to the local church. These tithes shall go to help the Church Board meet district NYI obligations. Any tithes given over the amount of District obligations may be allocated by the church board however they see fit.
If the tithes given by Trinity Youth Ministries do not meet or exceed the amount needed to pay District obligations, these obligations shall become the responsibility of the Church Board.
