Joe has had a troubled season. He has come up against a lot of big defenders and Joe is anything but big. He has had to become physically and mentally much stronger as his attitude at the beginning of the season when we lost was why bother? After beating Ferrari Royals in which he played superbly his confidence suddenly picked up. The Joe of old was starting shine through again. He was starting to be selfish again, starting to be cocky on the ball, he had the confidence to put it through someone's legs when he would have tried to pass it around them just weeks before. Another few fruitless weeks passed and he started to drop back into his earlier season form but he was still determined to win which was giving him the will to go in for tough challenges and in the last game of the season, the club captain showed how he had improved throughout the season by dominating against bigger and stronger defenders and he reaped his rewards. 2 goals in that final match. This season has had an up and down start for Joe so far with a far from convincing performance against Ranvilles and an excellent one against Hayling although injuries appear to still be hitting Joe hard.
