Jon's Clanfield career has been dogged by injury and illness but this season he turned that record around by playing in the majority of games. He has improved a lot this season as a result of his newly found fitness and towards the end of the season he was looking like the star of the defense. Jon has had some tough wingers to deal with and most of the time has dealt with them well. He is comfortable on the ball and he suffered in the early part of the season as he was used to having time on the ball and he simply wasn't given any. He combines well with both Betteridge inside him and Humphries in front of him. Jon does have the problem, like most of the team, that he is small and not the strongest player physically and I believe that he would be more suited to playing on the left-wing, the position in which he started his career. His place in the team is not, however, under threat as he is the only naturally left-footed defensive player in the squad.
