Too intelligent, too mature, too well- versed...
my resume reads over qualification,
but i got the job,
family business taken into account.

I begin the day by running numbers,
profits and losses being the same,
and am struck with cramps,
left overs from last night.

Near lunch, i take something to relieve my conscience-stomach.
i work hard, think each decision through,
and wonder why it all seems to fall apart.
must reduce comsumer guilt...
a company pin!

At night i lie awake, reviewing possible strategies...
the stabbing in my middle seems
to be my own fingers, pushing, prodding accusingly.
averages, percents, indexes, and scales.

Still, the conclusion is
that facial cleanser and hair dye ads,
and arbitrarily aged beauty magazines
are the best sources when studying
the mind of the consumer.
