I said before that you were there
in the mornings staring back at me.
I said that you taught me new words,
words which had always been in me to know.
I said to you
thank-you and goodbye.

In this world, this other existence,
you have changed your place...

I lie down with your curls and fields
and cannot name the words in my mouth,
that dumb, pink thing.
And you no longer reach at my insides,
a hand grasping again and again,
unable and unwilling to hold on.

You have changed your place,
morning to night, above to beside,
and we have made our peace
in this other existence...

I only wonder if you know you are here...
Back.
