Chapter One
Another beautiful day in Harmony.  Sleeping away in her bed. Dreaming about all the things she has ever wanted to happen.  She dreamt about her knight in shining armor.  Until she heard a knock on her door.  Miss Crane . . .  One of the maids spoken with a soft voice.  Sheridan sighed with grouchiness. Yes, Caroline?   She opened the door.  Breakfast is served.  She greeted Sheridan with a warm smile.  Thank you, Caroline.  After receiving her breakfast, Sheridan soughed and went back to the same routine. Eat breakfast alone and no one to converse with about men.  Sheridan worked out and took a shower and went to the Crane Mansion. Little does she know her luck is about to change.

Sheridan always look beautiful as usual and she saw Julian drinking on some brandy early this morning. Morning Julian.   She flatly replied.  Well morning to you too, Sister dear.  Julian flashed a faux grin.  So, why are we having a party again, Julian?  She glimpsed at the picture of her and Julian together.  Father will be coming home very soon. We must throw him the biggest party ever.  Julian looked up from his newspaper.  Oh, so were you the one who has told me about a new secretary is working for Ivy?  Sheridan remained stoic.  Yes, and she is hot!!! I would love to do a number on her!  He grinned roguishly. Julian!!  Sheridan and Ivy both yelled in shock.

What?  He shrugged with laughter.  I will not have you talking about my secretary that way!  Ivy scolded.  Pilars daughter is simply ravishing! Whats her name again?   He smirked.  None of your business, Julian!  Ivy shook her head.  Come on, Sheridan.  I have something to show you. Ivy ignored Julian and showed Sheridan upstairs.  Ivy, I know that Julian can be a real pain.  Sheridan scoffed.  Yes, he is. Unfortunately for Alistair, he always admonishing Julian for his reckless mistakes.  Ivy chuckled.  So, who is this secretary of yours, Ivy? Sheridan wondered.  Youre about to meet her.  Sheridan meet Theresa and Theresa meet Sheridan.  Theresa beamed.  Wow, Miss Crane!  Ive heard so much about you!  She is thrilled to meet Sheridan.  Please call me, Sheridan.  She insisted. All right, Sheridan. Theresa felt relieved that Sheridan is making her feel comfortable in the Crane mansion. After working here for three weeks, she is trying to get the hang of it.

You are Pilars daughter? Sheridan examined her carefully. Yes, my mother is very fond of you and Mrs. Crane.  Theresa commented.  Were fond of her as well. Theresa, have you ever thrown a party?  Ivy questioned.  Yes!  She answered immediately. Good, do you think you can handle throwing a party for Alistair Crane?  Ivy smiled. Oh yes, Mrs. Crane! Im more than honored to do this job! I promise I wont let you down!  She jumped up and down for joy.  Good, can you make some phone calls for me . . . all of the instructions are on my desk.  Ivy and Sheridan left Theresa in peace to get all of her work done.

After Ivy closed the door. She walked with Sheridan down to the patio. Sheridan, how are you?  Ivy sounded concern for her. Im good. Ivy . . . Im sick and tired of dating these guys who have money and are only interested in marrying me because of a damn business merger!  Sheridan looked annoyed.  Then dont bother with it, Sheridan. You can opt for something else.  You can leave early, cant you?   Ivy puts her glass of lemonade down.  Yes, but you know how Father can be.  She murmured.  Besides, I should humor myself for this welcome home party. Its not like anything will happen tonight . . . do you want to go to the Country Club with me?  Sheridan proposed while stretching.  Sure . . .  Ivy stood up and walked with Sheridan. The limousine waited for them.

But first, why dont we go to the Book Caf? Okay?  Sheridan offered.  Doesnt sound bad to me.  Ivy didnt seem to mind.  They serve the best mocha latte there.  Sheridan curved her lips. Ivy set there and waited for Sheridan as she walked into the Book Caf. Yes, I would like to have two mocha lattes?  Beth served them to her and unaware of whats going on around her, after buying the two cups of coffees to go. She bumped into a stranger.  Oh, Im sorry, Miss. I didnt see you standing there.  His killer smile approached her with kindness.  Its okay . . .  Sheridan stood there speechless as the stranger beamed at her again.  She left and he kept on looking.  Shes gorgeous.  He whispered to himself.

I hope I run into her again.  Beth walked up to him.  Luis, are you okay? Are we still on for tonight?  She kissed him.  I uh . . . yeah.  He returned a sweet kiss back.  Beth, who was that?  His mind floated away from reality.  I dont know . . . all I know she wanted some coffee. She said that I serve the best coffee in Harmony.  Beth looked confused.  Shes right about one thing. You do serve the best coffee.  He smiled and pulled her closer. Once Luis hugged her. This girl keeps on bothering him. What is it about her that makes him feel different when hes with Beth?  Beth doesnt make him feel this way. Maybe its because he knows Beth all of his life.

Beth released herself from him.  So, what brings you by?  She returned to the counter. I came to see you, sweetheart.  I knew you would be here and Im waiting for you to get off.  Luis grinned slightly. Yes, I will get off once Chad arrives here. Then were on our way.  Beth gleamed at him.  You are so beautiful . . .  He said while looking mesmerized. Thanks, Luis.  Youre not too bad looking yourself.  She bantered. Chad walked in.  Hey Beth, Im here now.  He beamed.  Hey Luis, whats shaking?!  He gave Luis a hand shake.  Nothing much. Im about to show Beth what having a good time is all about.  He hinted.

Good luck, bro. She deserves her time off.  Chad hinted back.  Hey! You two are talking about me like Im not even here! No fair!  She pouted. Aw, honey. You know we wouldnt do that.  He invited for Beth to sit on his lap.  Come on, Lopez-Fitzgerald. We got things to do.  Beth tagged him along and they waved good bye to Chad.  Luis held Beth close but his mind went back to running into that pretty girl earlier. It was something about her that made him curious about her. Whoever she is, she sure is something!  If I wasnt with Beth, I would make a move on her hands down!  Wait a minute! What am I doing?  Beth is a good woman for me. What could that girl have what Beth have?   He thought.

Luis doesnt know that this girl he has ran into will make his life go through a transformation. Luis went home to go change for his date tonight with Beth as Beth went to her appointment to look really nice for him.

Meanwhile, Sheridan and Ivy are at the Country Club for two hours. Sheridan was hearing what Ivy was saying but her attention wasnt there.  Sheridan, are you okay?  Ivy was beginning to worry.  Im fine, Ivy . . .  She faintly replied. Its a man . . . oh yes. I know that look. I bet hes a good looking man, isnt he? Is he around here?  Ivy searched for him.  No, Ivy . . . hes not here. It doesnt matter . . . he will never come back.  Sheridan was kind of sad.  This guy held her with interest. Whoever he was, Sheridan knows deep down, he could be the one for her. Oh my, we better get going, Sheridan!   We dont want to be late for your fathers homecoming!  Ivy took Sheridan by the hand and theyve rushed to the limousine to get dressed up for Alistairs return.

Theresa had this place looking at its best and Ivy is very impressed.  Theresa, would you like to be at this party, since youve helped me out so much?  Ivy said while putting on her other earring.  But, I dont . . . have anything to wear.  Theresa felt embarrassed.  Theresa, you can wear one of my daughterss dresses. Help yourself.  Ivy insisted.  Thank you, Mrs. Crane!  Theresa gave her a hug.   Sheridan came upstairs and chatted with Ivy for a minute or two.  Ivy . . . Im nervous . . . what if Father will be disappointed in me for not getting married?  Sheridan starts to fret.  Dont worry about it, Sheridan. Your father doesnt want you to get married to a guy who wants you for your money and rob you blind, thats all.  Ivy ensured her.

If you say so . . .  Sheridan glinted at Theresa when she walked in.  Theresa, you look beautiful! Every guy is going to want you!  Sheridan hugged her. The same goes for you Sheridan!  Theresa complimented back.  Sheridan, Theresa, and Ivy made their way downstairs to the party. Five minutes later, there he is Alistair Crane returns.
