Somewhere between obscure reality
And this illusion of normalcy
Lies bittersweet happiness
Elation turns to sorrow
Love gives way to loathing
Emotions twisted into a
Kaleidoscope, where immense beauty
And beast intertwine
Pushing, thrashing, and twisting
Aching, needing, and craving
And the fear of appearing repulsive
Motivates anger and self-inflicted pain
Lashing out to the hands that
Try to hold you
Scramble to devour the pills
That only seem to linger the pain
Of a much greater cause
Deep inside this spirit
Is an ancient wound
That still does bleed
And if left untreated
The infection spreads
Scarring others
Shattering dreams of happiness
All for the fear of reaching in
Of reaching out
For the fear of falling
You'll never dance
