Buffy quickened her pace, she was already going to be late to see her dad, but she just had to kill that vamp. She turned the corner and ran into something, no someone. “Sorry,” the stranger mumbled. Buffy looked up, her heart skipped a beat, it was Angel “I’m sure you are,” she said under her breath. “Buffy,” Angel said, so not expecting her to be there. 
 
“Yeah, it’s me. But don’t worry, I’m leaving now, must be my turn.”
 
“Buffy, don’t.
 
“Don’t? Don’t what.”
 

Don’t ask me

Don’t have to tell you

“You know why I left,’ he scolded her “Don’t act as if you don’t.”
 
“Because you want the best for me,” she laughed, although nearly crying. “You loved me so much, you had to leave.” Angel’s unbeating heart hurt, he loved her so much and hated to see her cry. He remembered the many times they’d been together,

“Buffy, I left because you deserved so much more,” Angel said fighting back tears “You know that.  Do you really think I left because I didn’t love you, or some other stupid reason? It was to dangerous to for us to be together, and unfair for you.”

“No Angel, it wasn’t unfair. You never get that do you?” Buffy asked. She turned around and kept walking to her dad’s place, leaving Angel staring into the blank place where Buffy once stood. Just as Buffy had, when Angel left her.
